I have Visual Studio .NET 2003 Academic Edition. Can I upgrade to VS 2005 Pro, or do I need to purchase the full install edition?
Thanks in advance.
Synthetikk242,
Depending on your situation, you may be able to purchase an upgrade from a reseller or other resource. You may be eligible for an academic version through an educational institution or MSDNAA. The best place I can point you is here:http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/howtobuy/
But I would also encourage you to take a look at the great new Express products--the price is right!http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/
What are the differences between the express versions and theprofessional ones, other than the fact that the express ones are freefor 1 year.
I'll encourage you to look at the product comparisons page online athttp://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/compare/default.aspx
With the non-express products, you will find tight integration with SQL Server 2005, the ability to do remote debugging, and a lot of great tools and utilities that hobbyists may not use (more enterprise-targeted). You can always give the express products a try, and there is also an online trial available of the full VS'05 as well.
Alright, thanks for the link :)
